Denim or leather? This ACNE STUDIOS denim suit is sparking intense buzz!
In recent years, ACNE STUDIOS has continuously reinvented its denim offerings. Following the launch of the DIRTY DENIM “dirty” jeans and the DIGITAL PRINTED JEANS with digital prints, the brand’s latest creation—the LOOSE FIT JEANS-2023, which blurs the boundaries between denim and leather—has once again captured widespread attention and sparked lively debate.
Consumers can’t help but wonder: Is this denim or leather? In response, the brand clarified that these jeans are made from a fabric called WASHED INDIGO TENCEL DENIM, which blends denim with Tencel—meaning the base material is still denim.
The garments achieve a leather-like sheen and tactile texture because the designer has coated their surfaces with black wax and paint. If you look closely, you’ll notice a subtle gradient effect at the waist and along the legs, where the denim blue seamlessly transitions into the black wax coating.
