Product Characteristics
Appearance: Light yellow flaky material
Ionic character: weak cation
pH: 6.0 ± 1 (1% solution)
Solubility: Soluble in cold and warm water.
Advantages and Applications
1. Fabrics finished with this product exhibit a smooth, silky, and full-bodied hand.
2. Has minimal impact on the whiteness and color shade of the treated fabric.
3. Can be used in the same bath with nonionic and cationic fixing agents or wrinkle-resistant resins and other auxiliaries.
4. Can be dissolved in cold or warm water; the working solution exhibits excellent stability and is easy to use.
Scope of Application
Softening finishing of various fibers and their blended knitted and woven fabrics.
Soft water washing for cotton garments.
Chemical formulation method
Warm-method formulation: Add 5–10% of the soft-sheet SOC-D to water while stirring, and heat and stir simultaneously. When the slurry temperature rises to 50–60°C, continue stirring and dissolving for approximately 1–2 hours until it is essentially completely dissolved. At this point, stop heating and keep stirring until a uniform emulsion is formed; continue stirring without interruption until the emulsion temperature drops below 40°C, at which point stirring may be stopped to prevent skin formation. After the emulsion is prepared, filter it and set aside for later use.
Cold-method formulation: Add 5–10% of the soft-sheet SOC-D to water at about 30°C while stirring; after thorough dispersion and uniform mixing, let it soak for 4–5 hours, then stir at low speed to obtain a homogeneous emulsion. Filter the emulsion and set aside for later use.
Recommended dosage
Pad-dyeing method:
Soft film SOC-D (10%): 30–50 g/L
Impregnation and padding with the working solution (padding ratio of 70–90%) → Drying and stretching
Impregnation method:
Soft film SOC-D (10%): 3–5% (o.w.f)
Bath ratio: 1:8–12
Soak at room temperature for 20–30 minutes → Dehydration → Drying
Precautions
⒈ When the SOC-D solution is diluted at room temperature and then further diluted, a small amount of flocculent precipitate may appear; however, this does not affect the product’s application.
2. SOC-D is derived from natural oil-based chemicals and appears as semi-spherical granules; consequently, both the inherent odor of the raw materials and any residual solvents from the manufacturing process may not be completely volatilized during the later stages of production, potentially resulting in a noticeable irritant odor upon initial opening of the package or during product dilution. This odor is readily volatile at elevated baking temperatures and typically does not persist on the treated fabric.
